Oops, forgetting I have a blog is a bad habit of mine.

BUT I just had the best Christmas ever, all thanks to my family and Christopher James.

We let Chris win Christmas Eve poker (ha!) and enjoyed our 'traditional' homemade pizza. My dad is all about the traditions - he has been bugging me for years to record our family traditions in a book (even though most of the traditions - like the pizza- he just makes up on the spot). This year I got to share in the Bohan family traditions as well - my favorite was Christmas Eve with the Bohan grandparents at St. Augustine Manor. I'm not used to being around little kids on Christmas anymore, so that was fun.

Christmas morning is always my favorite time. After my parents and Adam and I exchange gifts, my grandparents, DJ and Lindsey and this year, Chris, come over for brunch. It's always joyful when my whole family is together - I love them all so much! My dad, DJ and my grandma make me laugh like no one else. It's a good thing we have the calming presence of Adam, Mom and Grandpa :) And my mom's food is delicious! There is nothing better than being with your family on Christmas. Even our long drawn out gift exchange is fun. Chris gave everyone something he made in ceramics and they all LOVED them. We were pretty exhausted already by 1pm.

But the day was not even close to being over! I embarked on a new tradition as Chris and I left for Melanie's (Chris's sister) house in Canton. As relaxing as my family's morning was, the Bohan's get-together was a good change of pace! It was kind of crazy, but in a good way. Everyone was talking in small little groups, playing video games, board games, cooking dinner and just hanging out. Little Grace is....adorable. Melanie and Carol were so nice about the food - Melanie made separate beans and sweet potatoes, her mother-in-law made separate mashed potatoes and Carol (and Christopher James!) made vegan cookies and treats. The gift exchange was pure chaos, but fun too :) And I totally got a cupcake caddy - how cool is that? (thanks, little birdie!). Oh, and Chris got an enormous suitcase...for COLORADO! We were doubly exhausted by the time we left!

And then, Christopher James and I had the best part of the night left - our own gift exchange and time to be together - just the two of us. Although I gave him an unromantic stir fry pan, I think he still liked it ;) And I'm now the proud owner of even more Chris Bohan original artwork (which I ADORE!). I can honestly say that I have never had a better Christmas - I've never felt so close to my family and so loved by everyone. I could not imagine a better person to spend the holiday with than Chris - I loved every minute of it!
